OUR MISSION
Crestwood Academy exists to provide a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment where students are known well, challenged appropriately, and equipped with both strong academic foundations and practical life skills.
We believe education should do more than move children through a checklist of academic standards. It should help them build confidence, responsibility, critical thinking skills, independence, and the ability to apply what they learn in meaningful ways. Our goal is to help students grow not only as learners, but also as capable, thoughtful, and resilient young people.
Our Educational Approach
Crestwood Academy serves students in Pre-K through 4th grade and was built around the belief that children learn best in environments that are structured, relational, and responsive to individual needs.
Our educational approach combines:
- strong academic instruction
- small class sizes and personalized support
- hands-on and experiential learning
- life-skills development and real-world application
- family partnership
- leadership, responsibility, and character development
- outdoor and nature-inspired learning opportunities
We want students to build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, science, and other core subjects while also learning how to problem solve, communicate well, think critically, work responsibly, and grow in confidence.
At Crestwood, hands-on learning supports academics rather than replacing them. We want students to understand what they are learning, connect it to the real world, and develop practical skills alongside academic knowledge.
Academic Foundations with Real-World Learning
Crestwood Academy places a strong emphasis on academic growth, foundational skill-building, and meaningful learning. Our classrooms are designed to be calm, structured, and supportive, with clear expectations and individualized attention when needed.
Students engage in learning across core subject areas including literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. At the same time, we believe children learn best when they are actively involved in the process, which is why Crestwood also incorporates hands-on projects, outdoor learning, life-skills development, and opportunities to apply academic concepts in practical ways.
Our goal is not simply for students to memorize information for a test. We want them to understand it, use it, and grow into capable learners who can carry those skills into everyday life.
Character & Community
At Crestwood, education is not only about academics. We also want students to grow in responsibility, integrity, perseverance, self-control, leadership, and practical life skills.
Students are encouraged to take ownership of their work, treat others with respect, work through challenges, and contribute positively to the world around them. Through consistent expectations, supportive relationships, and opportunities to build independence, we aim to help students grow into confident, capable young people who are prepared for both school and life.
